Cuenca is one of the
most important cities in Ecuador, so you´ll find different kinds of transport easily.
Cuenca is located in the South of Ecuador and is known for its beautiful and
old buildings that make the city is called “Ecuador’s Athens”.

is quite cool, between 20-27 degraes.
In Cuenca you´ll find sunny mornings and cloudy afternoons. A comfortable city.

Light Park
New City Park is located in the area of Miraflores, on cerro Yanacauri also known as Yanacauri also known as you're Pedro being a place of visit of Pope Juan Paul II Cuenca in 1985.

The tram is the new Cuenca´s attraction. You have to buy a ticket previous your trip. It´s a modern tram and you could see the city in a very good travel. When the travel finishes, the tram takes you

Crafts in Cuenca
I´ve arrived and it´s
really exciting. It was a short travel since Cuenca until Gualaceo by bus. I wasn´t
tired. When arrived to Gualaceo I visited the worshop of ¨Macanas¨.
Mr. Jiménez is one of the few artisans of Gualaceo who makes shawls with
totally natural elements and with the technique of ¨Ikat o Amarre´´
José Jiménez's macanas relive an ancestral yarn, which could die with
him. Jiménez explained me every step for making his cloths while we toured each
space of the ground floor of his house that is of earth, and where he has a
part of his workshop.

Typical food
Mote Pillo
Mote is a type of corn that is
popular in Ecuador. In Cuenca you can find the best Mote Pillo. The dish is
prepared adding white onion, garlic, achiote, eggs, milk and cilantro to the
corn and it´s very delicious.
Morteruelo
It´s a pasta made with
pork liver, spices and bread. Often are added other meat ingredients, like
chicken, rabbit or pork loin.
